The diaphragm is the most important part of the solenoid valve. When the solenoid valve is energised, the trapped air above solenoid valve diaphgram is quickly exhausted causing fast opening of main diaphragm valve. When the solenoid valve is de-energised , air escapes through bleed hole of main solenoid valve to balance the diaphragm pressure and instantly closes the solenoid valve.
